Evaluation of gene expression conected to drought stress in Oppium poppy

Abstract:

Tato práce pojednává o genové expresi související s reakcí na stres vyvolaný nedostatkem vody. Při výzkumu exprese jednotlivých proteinů došlo k porovnání rezistentní odrůdy a odrůdy citlivé na dehydrataci rostliny Papaver somniferum. V práci je také obsažena charakteristika dané rostliny spolu s historickým podkladem. Vzhledem k rostoucímu globálnímu problému s nedostatkem vody je kladen důraz na stres, vyvolaný nedostatkem vody v půdě. Při dehydrataci rostlinného těla dochází k cílené expresi obraných proteinů. Mezi tyto proteiny patří především dehydriny, proteiny skupiny LEA či ABA. Práce také obsahuje zpracované proteinové mapy dvojího typu grafického značení. V prvním typu jsou proteiny rozděleny do skupin, které by měly mít podobnou funkci či původ. Druhý typ značení map popisuje jednotlivé funkce proteinů bez ohledu na jejich příbuznost. Kromě map je zde také výpis vybraných proteinů spolu s jejich funkcí.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with gene expression related to stress reaction caused by water scarcity. The research of the expression of individual proteins has compared the resistant species and the species sensitive to dehydration of the Papaver somniferum plant. The thesis also includes characteristics of the plant and its historical background. Due to the growing global problem of water scarcity, emphasis is placed on the stress caused by water scarcity in the soil. While dehydrating the plant body, targeted expression of defense proteins occurs. These proteins include mainly dehydrins, LEA or ABA proteins. The thesis also contains processed protein maps of two graphic marking types. In the first type, the proteins are divided into groups that are supposed to have a similar function or origin. The second type of map marking describes the individual protein functions, regardless of their affinity. In addition to the maps, selected proteins and their functions are listed.
