The Sources of Inspiration for the Sacred Visual Arts in Bohemia and Moravia in 1980's and 1990's

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce otevírá otázky inspirativních zdrojů v sakrálním výtvarném umění. V geograficky a časově vymezeném prostředí poukazuje na rozdílné přístupy konkrétních žijících umělců, a na základní teze, které jsou k otázce sakrální tvorby definovány významnými teology 20. století. Umělecké nazírání zastupuje pět vybraných tvůrců, kteří byli ochotni odpovídat v rozhovorech na stěžejní otázky. Zmíněné rozhovory jsou v přepisech zařazeny do příloh této diplomové práce. Úvodní stať vymezující komplikovaný pojem sakrálního umění a historický exkurz do dějin sakrálního umění ve 20. století ve studované oblasti, dávají předpoklad správnému pochopení tématu. Na základě komparace zmíněných uměleckých pohledů vytváří tato práce prostor pro další teologicko-uměleckou diskusi nejen o stavu sakrálního umění v Čechách a na Moravě na konci 20. století, nýbrž i o obecných pohledech na inspirační zdroje sakrálního umění.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis opens the questions of the inspirational sources in the sacral visual art. In the geographically and time limited environment, it predicates about different approaches of the concrete artists, and about the basic theses, defined by the renowned theologists of the 20th century. The artistic observations are represented by five selected artists, willing to have an interview and to answer the hinge questions. The mentioned interviews in the rewritings have been included in the supplements of this diploma thesis. The introductory part, demarking the complicated term of the sacral art, and historical excursus in the history of 20th century in the studied sphere gives presumption to understand the theme correctly. On the basis of comparison in the mentioned artist points of views, this paper creates further space for a theological and artistic discussion, not only about the state of the sacral art in Bohemia and Moravia in the late 20th century, but also about general notions of the sources of inspiration in the sacral art.
