Design, prototype and testing of a website for a new endowment fund

Abstract:

Práce se zaměřuje na tvorbu uživatelsky přívětivého designu a prototypu webové stránky začínajícího nadačního fondu, který bude podporovat tvorbu malých forem jako divadlo, hudba, umění a další. Prvním krokem je hloubkový rozhovor s budoucím zakladatelem fondu a převzetí jeho požadavků. Dalším krokem je analýza těchto požadavků a následný návrh prototypu webové stránky v programu Figma. V teoretické části je přehled použitých UX principů a design thinking metod, které jsou použity i v praktické části. Dále budou následovat hloubkové rozhovory a testování se zakladatelem fondu a dalšími osobami z cílové skupiny a následná úprava designu a přístupnosti na základě uživatelských požadavků. Výzkum se skládá z kvalitativních metod, a to z hloubkových rozhovorů se zakladatelem fondu a cílovou skupinou. Díky těmto rozhovorům je možné zjistit uživatelskou zkušenost s jinými webovými stránkami nadačních fondů a klíčové prvky webových stránek nadačního fondu. Rozhovory budou probíhat osobně i online a budou zaznamenávány ve formě audiozáznamu. Po vypracování prototypu následuje metoda testování použitelnosti s průchodem prototypu. Na základě toho je možno prototyp upravit podle uživatelských potřeb. Cílem práce je vytvoření high-fidelity prototypu, který bude přívětivý z hlediska UX principů, přístupnosti i uživatelských požadavků, otestování prototypu a jeho následná úprava. Hlavním přínosem této práce je vytvoření uživatelsky přívětivého a přístupného prototypu webové stránky. Vedlejším cílem je analýza klíčových prvků webové stránky nadačního fondu z pohledu osob z cílové skupiny.

Abstract:

This work focuses on creating a user-friendly design and prototype for the website of a newly established endowment fund that will support the creation of small artistic forms such as theatre, music, art, and others. The first step involves an in-depth interview with the future founder of the endowment fund to gather their requirements. The next step is to analyse these requirements and subsequently design a website prototype in Figma. The theoretical part provides an overview of the UX principles and design thinking methods, which are also applied in the practical part. This will be followed by in-depth interviews and testing with the foundation's founder and other individuals from the target group, leading to adjustments in the design and accessibility based on user feedback. The research consists of qualitative methods, specifically in-depth interviews with the founder and the target group. These interviews will help to understand user experiences with other foundation websites and identify the key elements of a foundation website. The interviews will be conducted both in person and online, with audio recordings. Following the initial prototype, user testing and a walkthrough of the prototype will be conducted. Based on this, the design can be modified according to user needs. The goal of this thesis is a high-fidelity prototype that will be user-friendly in terms of UX principles, accessibility, and user requirements, testing the prototype and its subsequent modification. The main contribution of this work is the creation of a user-friendly and accessible website prototype. A secondary goal is the analysis of key elements of an endowment fund website from the perspective of individuals within the target group.
