Development of algorithmic thinking in children at elementary school

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce je zmapování vývoje algoritmického myšlení u dětí na druhém stupni základní školy, popsání různých způsobů pro rozvíjení algoritmického myšlení a navržení konkrétních aktivit. V teoretické části jsou uvedeny základní informace přibližující danou problematiku - současný stav výuky základů algoritmizace a RVP včetně jeho návrhu změn a také základní předpoklady výuky algoritmizace. Nedílnou součástí je i podpora výuky algoritmizace, do níž jsou zařazeny učebnice věnující se algoritmizaci a programování, programová podpora, projekty a soutěže. Praktická část je tvořena výzkumem, zaměřeným na pedagogy a jejich znalosti a zkušenosti v oboru ICT. Výzkum byl proveden metodou kvantitativního sběru dat - dotazováním. Osloveno bylo 10 pedagogů, přičemž všichni dotazník vyplnili. Odpovědi byly zpracovány pro lepší přehlednost do grafické podoby. Další část výzkumné části práce tvoří ukázka pracovních listů, které mohou být nástrojem rozvoje algoritmické myšlení. Tyto pracovní listy byly vytvořené ze pomoci programovacího prostředí Scratch a možnosti základů programování ve webovém prostředí www.code.org. A z pracovních listů pomocí jednoduchého grafického prostředí RoboPlus-Task a jednoduchého vývojového prostředí Wiring.

Abstract:

The goal of this bacheor thesis is analyzing of algorithmic thinking develope of lower-secondary school´s students, describing of algorithmic thinking develope in various ways, suggesting of specific activities. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to map the development of algorithmic thinking in children at the second stage of elementary school, to describe various ways of developing algorithmic thinking and to design concrete activities. The theoretical part contains basic informations about of this issue - In the theoretical part are given basic information about the issue - the current teaching of the basics of algorithmization and FEP including its proposal for changes and also basic prerequisites for teaching algorithmization. Integral part is the support of teaching algorithmization, which includes textbooks for studing algorithmization and programming, support of programme, projects and competitions. Practical part contains research, that is focused on educators and their ICT skills. Research was done using a quantitative data collection - questioning. 10 educators were asked, all answered the survey. Answers were converted to graphical form for a better understanding. The next part of the research are worksheet examples, which can be used as a tool to improve algorithmic understanding. These worksheets were created with using the Scratch programming environment and the basics of programming in the www.code.org web environment. And from worksheets using the simple RoboPlus-Task graphical environment and the simple Wiring development environment.
