The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 posed unprecedented challenges to various industries worldwide significantly impacting the tourism and hospitality sectors. This thesis explores the multifaceted consequences of the pandemic for businesses engaged in tourism and the hospitality industry. Through comprehensive research and analysis this study examines the disruptive effects of COVID-19 on these sectors investigating both immediate and long-term impacts on travel patterns consumer behaviour revenue models and operational strategies. Various measures adopted by businesses to adapt to changing conditions are explored encompassing changes in marketing approaches health and safety protocols technological innovations and government intervention. Additionally it delves into thematic studies and industry responses in different geographical regions shedding light on the challenges faced by tourism and hospitality companies as well as their resilience. This thesis aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the implications adaptations and potential recovery strategies serving as valuable insight for industry stakeholders policymakers and researchers navigating the aftermath of the COVID-19 crisis in the tourism and hospitality sectors.
