Abstract:
The thesis is focused on the appearance of tobacco in the English culture within the 16th to 19th century. The emphasis is placed on the 17th century when tobacco consumption has become so popular that smoking became common practice. Tato práce je zaměřena na výskyt tabáku v anglické kultuře v rámci 16. do 19. století. Důraz je kladen na 17. století, kdy se konzumace tabáku stala natolik populární, že se kouření stalo běžným zvykem. Důležitým poznatkem je zjištění jaký vliv a význam měl tabák na historii Anglie a založení Ameriky.
