The attitudes of public to the aesthetic surgery of genital organs

Abstract:

Cíl: Hlavním cílem průzkumu bylo zjistit postoje veřejnosti k estetické chirurgii pohlavních orgánů. Metodika: Základní soubor respondentů tvořili náhodně oslovené ženy a muži v Ostravě Porubě na ulicích Karla Pokorného, Ježkova a Žilinská v měsících listopad a prosinec 2009. Průzkumný soubor tvořilo celkem 83 mužů a žen. Byl použit nestandardizovaný dotazník vytvořený autorkou. Otázky byly zaměřeny na téma estetické chirurgie pohlavních orgánů, na postoje veřejnosti k estetické chirurgii pohlavních orgánů, na jejich sebevědomí a zdroje informací. Výsledky: Z průzkumu vyplynulo, že se veřejnost staví k estetické chirurgii pohlavních orgánů kladně, že je považována za moderní záležitost a pomáhá lidem. Většina veřejnosti by však takové zákroky nepodstoupila a to z finančních důvodů a obav z operace. Průzkumu se zúčastnily i ženy, které takový zákrok podstoupily, byly to převážně studentky a ženy na mateřské dovolené. Ženy by si nejčastěji nechaly zvětšit prsa a upravit zevní genitál z důvodů nevzhledných jizev po porodech. Muži by měli zájem o úpravu genitálu jen v 17%. Se vzhledem také velmi úzce souvisí i sebevědomí. Mezi dotazovanými převládalo dobré sebevědomí, se svým vzhledem byli spokojeni. Potřebné informace by dotazovaní hledali na internetu. Znalost klinik estetické chirurgie v Ostravě však byla chabá. Závěr: Estetická chirurgie dokáže pomoci lidem. Je třeba si ale uvědomit, že není všemohoucí a ani trvalá. Současný trend a snaha po dokonalosti těla nutí ženy i muže, aby věnovali pozornost i těm nejintimnějším částem lidského těla, které bývají v převážné většině zcela skryty před zraky veřejnosti. Obraz krásy kolem nás v televizi, časopisech a reklamě je tak silný, že není divu že honba za krásou se stala tak převládající.

Abstract:

Target: To find out the attitudes of public to the aesthetic surgery of genital organs. Methodology: Basic set of respondents were randomly contacted women and men in the streets of Ostrava Poruba Karl Pokorny, Ježkova and Žilina in the months of November and December 2009. The exploratory sample consisted of 83 men and women. Standard questionnaire was used in the author created. Questions were focused on aesthetic genital surgery, public attitudes toward the aesthetic surgery of the genitalia, their self-esteem and sources of information. Results: The survey showed that public support for Aesthetic genital surgery in the affirmative, it is considered a modern issue and helping people. Most of the public, however, has not undergone such procedures and financial reasons and fear of surgery. Participated in the survey and women undergoing such treatment were mostly students and women on maternity leave. Women would often left breasts enlarge and edit the external genitalia for reasons of unsightly scars after childbirth. Men would be interested in genital modification only 17%. Is given very closely associated with self-confidence. Among the interviewees was the prevailing good self-esteem, with their appearance were satisfied. Necessary information sought by the respondents on the Internet. Knowledge of aesthetic surgery clinic in Ostrava, however, was poor. Conclusion: Aesthetic surgery can help people. It is important to realize, however, it is not omnipotent and not permanent. The current trend and desire for perfection of body forces the men and women to pay attention to even the most intimate body parts, which are the vast majority completely hidden from public view. Image of beauty around us in television, magazines and advertising is so powerful that it is no wonder that the quest for beauty has become so prevalent.
