Implementation of BI tool for incident reporting and evaluation of performance management system in agile development team

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá návrhem a implementací BI řešení v prostředí softwarového vývoje. Cílem práce je implementace analytického nástroje pro získání vhledu do procesu řešení incidentů ve vývojářském týmu. V úvodu se práce věnuje oblasti měření výkonnosti agilního týmu, problematice řešení incidentů a agilní implementaci BI nástrojů. Práce pokračuje představením vývojářského týmu a současného procesu řešení incidentů. Dále jsou identifikovány problémy týmu v oblasti řešení incidentů. Na základě sběru požadavků od členů týmu je vytvořen návrh dashboardu a následně jeho první prototyp. Součástí návrhu je také popis jednotlivých metrik a postup jeho vytvoření. Pro návrh a implementaci nástroje je využita agilní metodika Scrum v rámci níž je nástroj také iterativně vylepšován. V závěru práce je zhodnocen samotný nástroj a také návrh na jeho možné budoucí vylepšení.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the design and implementation of BI solutions in the software development environment. The aim of the thesis is to implement an analytical tool to gain insight into the process of incident resolution in the development team. The thesis starts with the area of agile team performance measurement, incident handling issues and agile implementation of BI tools. The thesis continues by introducing the development team and the current incident handling process. Next, the problems of the team in the area of incident handling are identified. Based on the requirements gathered from team members, a draft dashboard is created and subsequently a first prototype is developed. The design also includes a description of each metric and the process for its creation. The agile Scrum methodology is used to design and implement the tool, within which the tool is also iteratively improved. The thesis concludes with an evaluation of the tool itself as well as suggestions for possible future improvements.
