Tato práce vymezuje hlavní teoretické pojmy na téma povodně a prevence škod jimi způsobenými. Čtenář je seznámen s prevencí povodní v České republice a náklady na vybudovaná opatření v hlavním městě Praze. Jsou zde provedené ekonomické analýzy prevence povodní a analýzy přínosu vybudovaných protipovodňových opatření v Praze. This thesis defines the main teoretic notions of floods and prevention of costs caused by them. The reader is informed about prevention in the Czech republic and realized precation´s costs especially in Prague.
