An Analysis of Parcel Delivery Management at Valašské Meziříčí Post Office Using Industrial Engineering Methods

Abstract:

Česká pošta, s. p. je jednou z firem na trhu v České republice, která zabezpečuje doručování balíkových zásilek. Konkurenční boj na trhu nutí poskytovatele těchto služeb k neustálému snižování nákladů. Podstatnou část těchto nákladů tvoří mzdové náklady, a proto je nutné eliminovat ztrátové časy při zpracování zásilek. Vhodným prostředkem pro hledání těchto časů je využití metod průmyslového inženýrství, které jsou založeny na analýze současného stavu zpracování zásilek. Následuje nalezení zdrojů plýtvání a navržení způsobu odstranění tohoto plýtvání. Tato práce se zabývá analýzou procesu zpracování balíkových zásilek na dané poště s využitím metod průmyslového inženýrství. Cílem práce je zobrazení vhodnosti použití metod průmyslového inženýrství v podmínkách České pošty, s. p. a vhodnost využití i v ostatních procesech zpracování zásilek.

Abstract:

The Czech post, s. p. is a state-run organization that supplies parcel delivery services. Market competition forces providers of these services continually to seek cost reductions. A significant part of their costs are salaries, and therefore it is critical to eliminate time inefficiencies during delivery. A good solution in time management is using methods of industrial engineering which are based on the analysis of current deliveries, which can lead to an understanding of the reasons for time losses and proposals for their elimination. This thesis offers an analysis of the process of parcel delivery management at a given post office which uses the method of industrial engineering. The aim of this thesis is to illustrate the suitability of using industrial engineering methods in the context of Czech post, s.p. as well as in other delivery management processes.
