Real magic with complex numbers

Abstract:

V této bakalářské práci se věnujeme komplexním číslům a jejich aplikacím. Práce je rozdělena do pěti kapitol. V první kapitole se seznámíme s historií komplexních čísel, jejich definicí i geometrickým znázorněním v komplexní rovině, derivacemi a integrály funkce komplexní proměnné. Další kapitoly jsou zaměřeny na různé aplikace komplexních čísel. Příkladem může být výpočet reálných integrálů přes komplexní čísla nebo řešení lineárních diferenciálních rovnic druhého řádu. Poslední kapitola uvádí mnohá další použití komplexních čísel i s odkazy k dalšímu studiu.

Abstract:

In this thesis we study complex numbers and their applications. The work is divided into five chapters. In the first one, we focus on the history of complex numbers, their definition and geometric representation in the complex plane, derivations and integrals of function of a complex variable. In the next chapters we describe various applications of complex numbers. For example, we can use them for calculating real integrals over the complex numbers or solving second order linear differential equations. In the last chapter, we find a list of many other uses of complex numbers with sources for further study.
