Industry 4.0 and Its Potential to Solve Impacts of Population Ageing in Japan

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá dvěma aktuálními trendy: stárnutím populace a Průmyslem 4.0. Jejím cílem je zjistit, zda Průmysl 4.0, opírající se o robotizaci, je schopen eliminovat, či alespoň částečně redukovat dopady stárnutí populace v Japonsku. Práce je rozdělena do tří kapitol. V rámci první kapitoly jsou definovány oba stěžejní pojmy a nalezeny jejich vzájemné souvislosti. Druhá kapitola se věnuje stárnutí populace v Japonsku, konsekvencím stárnutí populace a způsobům jejich řešení. Třetí kapitola vysvětluje význam robotizace pro Japonsko, a dále identifikuje celostátní strategie jejího rozvoje, přičemž se specializuje na oblast zdravotnictví, resp. péče o seniory.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with two current trends: population ageing and Industry 4.0. Its aim is to find out whether Industry 4.0, based on robotization, is able to eliminate or at least partially reduce the impact of ageing population in Japan. The thesis is divided into three chapters. In the first chapter, both key concepts are defined and their interrelations are found. The second chapter deals with the population ageing in Japan, the consequences of population ageing and the ways of their solution. The third chapter explains the importance of robotization for Japan, and also identifies the nationwide strategies for its development, specialized on the healthcare, respectively on elderly care.
