Factors affecting growth of plantations of fast growing species

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na identifikaci faktorů, které podmiňují úspěšnost vzcházení a růstu produkčních topolových plantáží v prvním obmýtí. Na třech vybraných stanovištích, které byly rozděleny na 8 parcel, probíhalo v letech 2017 a také 2019 sledování produkčních ukazatelů plantáží nedestruktivními metodami. Základními sledovanými faktory byly zvoleny meteorologické ukazatele, parametry půdního prostředí (pH) a další. Na základě sledování byly identifikovány rozdíly mezi sledovanými parcelami na úrovni míry vzcházení i vzrůstu. U sledovaných faktorů nebyly identifikovány výrazné rozdíly, které by vysvětlovaly nerovnoměrnost vzcházení a vzrůstu. Na těchto parcelách tak nelze identifikovat žádný významně limitující faktor. V závěru práce je rozvedena potřeba biomasy, jakožto obnovitelného zdroje energie a komentovány mimoprodukční ekosystémové služby těchto porostů.

Abstract:

The thesis focuses on the identification of factors that determine the success of the emergence and growth of production poplar plantations in the first rotation period of trees. In three selected habitats, which were divided into 8 plots, monitoring of plantation production indicators by non-destructive methods took place in 2017 and also 2019. Meteorological indicators, soil environment parameters (pH) and others were selected as fundamental monitored factors. Based on the monitoring, differences among the monitored plots at the level of the rate of ascent and growth were identified. No significant differences were identified in the monitored factors, which would explain the inequality of emergence and growth. Thus, no significant limiting factor can be identified on these plots. At the end of the thesis, the need for biomass as a renewable energy source is elaborated and non-productive ecosystem services of these stands are commented.
