Abstract:
This bachelor thesis describes two perspectives to the Great Irish potato famine (1845?1852). The thesis focuses on contemporary attitudes of the Brits and the Irish towards the Famine. It outlines the background situation before the outbreak of the Famine and deals with relations of the Brits and the Irish as well as with the economic situation in Ireland. Tato bakalářská práce popisuje dvojí pohled na problematiku Velkého irského hladomoru (1845?1852). Práce se zaměřuje na soudobé postoje Britů a Irů k tématu. Nastíňuje pozadí před vypuknutím hladomoru v Irsku, pojednává jak o vzájemných vztazích Britů a Irů, tak o ekonomické situaci Irska. Práce se zabývá Velkým irským hlamorem a jeho příčinami, průběhem a následky, zároveň dokumentuje postoje Britů …more
