Development of air cargo transport with a focus on the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Předmětem bakalářské práce je vývoj nákladní letecké dopravy se zaměřením na podmínky České republiky. Tato práce se skládá ze dvou částí, z teoreticko-metodologické a aplikační části. Teoreticko-metodologická část se věnuje historii vzniku a vývoji v letecké respektive nákladní letecké dopravě. Dále čtenáře seznámí s historií a vývojem předního vlajkového dopravce Českých aerolinií, budou popsány vybrané letiště v České republice a další základní prvky týkající se aplikační části. Aplikační část se bude zabývat analýzou importu a exportu celkového objemu přepravy v České republice a následně i v rámci Českých aerolinií, analýzou letadlové flotily za zvolené období, charakteristikou terminálů na letištích, analýzou poptávky upravených nákladních verzí letadel. Na základě výsledných analýz bude v závěru popsán možný budoucí vývoj nákladní letecké dopravy v České republice a společnosti ČSA. Na závěr aplikační práce bude charakterizován modelový příklad na výpočet leteckého nákladního tarifu TACT dle IATA.

Abstract:

The subject of this bachelor thesis is the development of cargo air transport with a focus on the Czech Republic. This thesis consists of two parts, the theoretical-methodological at first and the application part as the second one. The theoretical and methodological part deals with the history of air cargo transport, the origin of it and its development. The reader will be than presented with the history of the Czech Airlines, the leading aviation flagship of the air cargo transport. Selected airports within the Czech Republic will be presented too as well as other basic elements related to the theoretical background. The application part will deal with the analysis of total transport volume in the Czech Republic measuring the import and the export. Then also the total volumes within Czech Airlines will be commented for the selected period following by the analysis of the fleet, the characteristics of the airport terminals, the analysis of the demand for modified versions of cargo aircraft. Based on the results from the analyses mentioned above the possible future development of air cargo transport will be predicted for the Czech Republic and for the Czech Airlines. At the last part of my thesis there is an example of the tariff calculation according to the IATA handbook and TACT (The air cargo tariff and rules).
