Value orientation of juvenile delinquents

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou hodnot a hodnotové orientace mladistvých delikventů. Je rozdělena na část teoretickou a praktickou. Teoretická část je členěna na čtyři kapitoly, zaměřené na hodnoty, hodnotovou orientaci, klasifikaci či funkci hodnot, dále na vybrané charakteristiky mládeže, vývoj hodnot a hodnotové orientace dětí a mládeže, jakož i faktory, které ji ovlivňují. Pozornost je věnována rovněž delikvenci, jejím příčinám, charakteristickým rysům, opatřením ukládaným mladistvým delikventům a ústavní výchově. Praktická část obsahuje empirický výzkum v dané oblasti. Cílem je zjistit hierarchii hodnot u mladistvých delikventů tak, abychom mohli v porovnání s běžnou populací adolescentů určit oblast, kde a jak je možné působit na jedince za účelem omezení výskytu jednání porušujícího sociální a právní normy. Je prezentován průběh výzkumu, jakož i analýza a interpretace zjištěných dat.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the issue of values and value orientation of juvenile delinquents. It is divided into two parts ? theoretical and practical. Theoretical one is subdivided into four sections aimed at values themselves, value orientation, classification and functions of values. It also deals with sampled characteristics of youths, development of child and youth values and value orientation, as well as their influencing factors. Attention is also paid to delinquency and its causes, salient features, precautions imposed on juvenile delinquents and institutional care. Practical part includes empirical research work in that area, the goal of which is to determine a juvenile delinquents value orientation so that we could compare it with the one of general population of youths. This way we would be able to find an area to be influenced in order to limit the prevalence of one?s behavior violating both social and legal rules. The process of research, analysis and interpretation of findings is being presented.
