The role of coping strategies in the population of alcohol dependent

Abstract:

Examination of the differences in strategies used for coping with stress between non-drinking and drinking alcohol dependent all of which went through a few months stay in a therapeutic community. Our findings show that these differences exist, with a significant proportion of the difference in the areas of coping strategies of devaluation of stress, strategies of stressors avoidance and escape and strategies involving control of the situation and oneselves in situations of stress, which are in other works considered to be predictors of successful coping with stressful situations of dependence and in preventing relapse.

Abstract:

Skúmanie rozdielov v používaných stratégiách zvládania stresu medzi abstinujúcimi a neabstinujúcimi závislými na alkohole, ktorí absolvovali niekoľkomesačný pobyt v terapeutickej komunite. Naše zistenia ukazujú, že tieto rozdiely existujú, s význačným podielom rozdielu v oblastiach zvládacích stratégií devalvácie stresu, stratégií vyhýbania sa stresorom a úniku a stratégií kontroly situácie a seba v situáciách stresu, ktoré i v iných prácach sú považované za prediktory úspešného zvládania stresových situácií u závislosti a predchádzaniu relapsu.
