Mother-foetus relationship and its connection with chosen mother's characteristics

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá pociťovaným vztahem k očekávanému dítěti a jeho souvislostmi. Na vzorku 339 žen ve třetím trimestru těhotenství byla zkoumána spojitost vztahu k očekávanému dítěti s úzkostností, s depresivitou, s kvalitou partnerského vztahu, s vyhýbavostí citové vazby a s úzkostností citové vazby. Byl kontrolován vliv parity a chtěnosti dítěte. Nejsilnějším prediktorem vztahu k dítěti byla kvalita partnerského vztahu - ženy, které hodnotily svůj partnerský vztah jako kvalitní, pociťovaly silnější vztah k očekávanému dítěti. Byl prokázán také vliv parity - prvorodičky pociťovaly silnější vztah k dítěti než vícerodičky. Ostatní souvislosti byly pouze na úrovni korelací. Depresivita i vyhýbavost citové vazby souvisely s pociťovaným vztahem slabě negativně, souvislost s ostatními sledovanými proměnnými nebyla prokázána. Ve výzkumu je poprvé použita nová škála k měření vztahu k očekávanému dítěti, která překonává některé limity dosavadních metod. Metoda dobře rozlišuje mezi ženami s různou silou pociťovaného vztahu k očekávanému dítěti a měří různé aspekty tohoto konceptu.

Abstract:

Our study deals with mother-foetus relationship (MFR) and its connection with chosen mother‘s characteristics. Relationship of MFR and anxiety, depresivity, quality of partnership, attachment-related avoidance and attachment-related anxiety was investigated on a sample of 339 pregnant women (third trimester). Indirect effect of parity and desire for a child was taken into account. Quality of the partnership was the strongest predictor of MFR. A woman who considered her relationship with her partner to be functional had stronger relationship to the unborn baby. The effect of parity was confirmed - primiparas had stronger MFR than multiparas. Other relationships of the variables were only correlational. Depresivity and attachment-related avoidance were connected negatively with MFR, other connections weren't found. The present study uses the new scale of MFR for the first time. The scale overcomes some limits of the older scales, clearly distinguishes between women with different strenght of MFR and measures different aspects of MFR.
