Social Services for the Poor in Opava in the Years 1860-1914
Abstract:
Diplomová práce se soustředí na podobu a rozsah chudinské péče, kterou v Opavě v letech 1860-1914 zajišťovala jak obecní samospráva, tak soukromá dobročinnost. Mezníkem zkoumaného období je rok 1894, kdy byla chudinská péče reformována podle elberfeldského systému. Práce se snaží vyslovit k příčinám, které vedly obecní samosprávu a měšťanstvo k pomoci chudým.
Abstract:
This thesis focuses on the form and the range of social services for the poor which supported both the municipality of Opava and private charity in the years 1860-1914. The year 1894 is the terminus of this period. Social services for the poor was reformed in agreement with Elberfeld system.
