The toxic effects of ultrafine smog particles on the organism

Abstract:

Hlavním tématem této práce je problematika ultrajemných částic, které se odlišují od běžných částic nejen svou malou velikostí a hmotností, ale hlavně specifickými vlastnostmi. První část je zaměřena na vznik, složení, rozdělení a metody měření těchto částic, přičemž se zabývá také jejich distribucí v atmosféře a vlivem různých faktorů na jejich koncentraci. Druhá část práce detailněji pojednává o toxických účincích, karcinogenním potenciálu a zdravotních dopadech, které tyto částice mohou mít na lidský organismus, včetně jejich spojitosti s výskytem některých onemocnění a chorob. V neposlední řadě práce navrhuje a diskutuje o možných opatřeních a strategiích, která by mohla pomoci snížit vznik a negativní dopady ultrajemných částic v ovzduší, a tím zlepšit kvalitu životního prostředí a ochranu lidského zdraví.

Abstract:

The main topic of this work is to discuss the problem of ultrafine particles, which differ from ordinary particles not only by their small size and mass but mainly by their specific characteristics. The first part is focused on the origin, composition, distribution, and measurement methods of these particles, while also dealing with their distribution in the atmosphere and the influence of various factors on their concentration. The second part of this thesis discusses in more detail the toxic effects, carcinogenic potential, and health effects that these particles can have on the human body, including their association with the occurrence of certain diseases and illnesses. Finally, this thesis proposes and discusses possible measures and strategies that could help reduce the formation and negative impacts of ultrafine particles in the air, thereby improving environmental quality and protecting human health.
