Changes in routines of ČT24 day news editors after management restructuralization and technological innovation in the broadcasting

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá proměnou rutin redaktora denního zpravodajství ČT24. Zaměřuje se na změny po restrukturalizaci řízení zpravodajské stanice a technologické inovaci vysílání. V první části práce autorka na základě dostupné literatury vymezuje základní teoretické koncepty, mezi nimi především nové trendy v médiích, redakční kulturu a mediální rutiny, restrukturalizaci managementu nebo technologickou inovaci vysílání. Do poslední části teoretické kapitoly řadíme především trendy konvergence, multimedializace, multiskilling a virtuální newsroom. Metodologická část se na základě úvodu do problematiky věnuje vymezení cíle práce a výzkumných otázek. Na ty následně získává odpovědi pomocí kvalitativních metod výzkumu, konkrétně analýzy dokumentů a polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s redaktory denního zpravodajství ČT24 a manažery ČT24. Prostřednictvím těchto metod zkoumá autorka redakční kulturu, základní technologické změny ve vysílání a restrukturalizaci řízení managementu, což jí následně umožňuje zjistit, jak se proměnily rutiny redaktorů denního zpravodajství ČT24. Empirická část práce nabízí klíčové informace o ČT24, analýzu výzkumu a odpovědi na výzkumné otázky. Na závěr autorka shrnuje a diskutuje svá zjištění. Hlavním přínosem práce je její teoretické i analytické zaměření na problematiku redaktorů denního zpravodajství ČT24, která je v českém prostředí dosud jen marginálně probádaná.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with changes in routines of daily news editors in ČT24 news station. It is focused on the period after management restructuralization and technological innovation of the broadcasting. In the first part, the author specifies the basic theoretical concepts in the basics of scientific literature. Particularly, it focuses on new trends in media, newsroom culture, media routines, management restructuralization and technological innovation of the broadcasting. In this part we can find especially convergence, multimedialization, multiskilling and virtual newsroom. In the methodology part, authoress defines the aim of the thesis and research questions. The author use qualitative research methods, particularly documents analysis and semi-structured interviews with daily news editors and managers of ČT24. Thanks to this research, the author finds out how have the work routines of daily editors of ČT24 changed. The empirical part presents basic information about ČT24, reflects the research and answers the research questions. The final part sums up and discusses the findings. The main contribution of this thesis lies in the theoretical and empirical focus on daily news editors of ČT24, which has been just marginally explored in Czech academic sphere.
