This thesis focuses on the European citizenship and its interpretation by the European Court of Justice. It examines the rights associated with this concept by analyzing relevant judgments of the Court. It proceeds to focusing on acceptance of these judgments by member state’s executive and legislative bodies. It does so with theories of rational institutionalism and neofunctionalism in mind.
