IT infrastructure security in companies in Czech Republic

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou informačního zabezpečení IT infrastruktury firem v ČR. Hlavním cílem této práce je na základě teoretických východisek a kvantitativního výzkumu, definovat a analyzovat současnou úroveň zabezpečení českých společností. V jednotlivých kapitolách je čtenář seznámen s pojmy, které se bezprostředně týkají nejen samotné IT infrastruktury, ale také problematiky jejího zabezpečení. Jsou zde tedy osvětleny pojmy jako je rozdíl mezi informacemi a daty, je zde popsán přehled aktivních prvků síťové infrastruktury včetně jejich možné ochrany před neoprávněným zneužitím, využití Cloud Computingu v podnikovém prostředí či pojednání o firemní bezpečnostní politice a standardech. V analytické části práce je proveden průzkum oficiálního dotazníkového šetření informační bezpečnosti firem, který pravidelně vyhotovuje Český statistický úřad nebo Národní bezpečnostní úřad. Na základě tohoto průzkumu jsou stanoveny hypotézy, které se následně ověřují pomocí vlastního dotazníkového šetření. Toto šetření zkoumá současný stav zabezpečení IT infrastruktury českých firem. Výsledek vlastního šetření je podrobně prozkoumán a následně porovnán s oficiálními stanovisky bezpečnostního šetření a na základě obou průzkumů je stanoveno doporučení pro přiměřenou informační bezpečnost v podnikovém prostředí.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the issue of information security of IT infrastructures in the companies. The main objective of this work is based on theoretical background and quantitative research, to define and analyse the current security level of the Czech companies. In each chapter, the reader is familiar with the terms, that are not only directly related with the IT infrastructure, but also with the issue of its security. Here are therefore explained terms such as the difference between information and data, and also described an overview of active elements of network infrastructure, including their possible protection against unauthorized use, the use of cloud computing in a corporate environment or a treatise on corporate security policies and standards. In the analytical part of this diploma thesis is created a formal questionnaire survey of information security of the companies, which regularly publish the Czech Statistical Office and the National Security Authority. Based on the formal survey are there set hypotheses, that are subsequently verified by the means of author's own survey. This survey examines the current state of IT security infrastructure in the Czech companies. The result of its own research is examined in detail and then compared with the official survey and based on these two surveys are provided recommendations for appropriate information security in a corporate environment.
