Resistance of the bacteria of the genus Arcobacter and Campylobacter

Abstract:

Tato práce pojednává obecně o morfologii, historii, kultivaci a diagnostice relativně nedávno objevených rodů bakterií Campylobacter a Arcobacter. Zároveň se zabývám i jimi způsobeným onemocněním zvaným kampylobakterióza, jejími příznaky, léčbou a prevencí. Dále popisuji jednotlivé fyzikální a chemické vlivy působící na zmíněné bakterie, které jsou podkladem pro dezinfekční a dekontaminační prostředky a postupy. Tyto bakterie jsou ale schopné si k některým prostředkům, zejména antibiotikům skupiny fluorochinolonů, vybudovat rezistenci, která se stává velkým problémem.

Abstract:

This work deals with general morphology, history, cultivation and diagnosis of the relatively recently discovered genus of bacteria Campylobacter and Arcobacter. At the same time I also deal with a disease caused by them called campylobacteriosis, its symptoms, treatment and prevention. I also describe the individual physical and chemical influences affecting the bacteria mentioned, which are the basis for the disinfection and decontamination agents and procedures. However, these bacteria are capable of establishing resistance against some agents, particularly fluoroquilone antibiotics, which is becoming a major problem.
