The History of Credit Unions in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou družstevních záložen od vzniku po současnost. Sděluje historický vývoj drobného lidového peněžnictví. Práce je rozdělena do tří částí. První část se zabývá teoretickými předpoklady pro vznik peněžního družstevnictví a družstevních spolků. V další části je uveden vznik a vývoj peněžních družstev v zahraničí i na českém území: - počátek a rozšíření v 19. století, - zrušení v 50. letech 20. století, - obnova v roce 1996, - vývoj v 21. století. Třetí část je věnována analýze současného stavu sektoru družstevních záložen a krátké predikci vývoje tohoto sektoru.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with credit unions since their beginnings to the present time. Its mission is to bring the historical development of folk banking. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first part deals with theoretical prerequisites for the creation of credit cooperative societies. Next section gives the origin and development of credit unions in abroad and in the Czech territory: - beginning and expansion in the 19th century, - abolition in the 50th in the 20th century, - revival in 1996, - development in the 21st century. The third part analyses the current state of the credit union sector and gives a brief prediction of development of this sector.
