Practical use of easy to read when working with people with intellectual disability

Abstract:

Autorka se bude ve své bakalářské práci zabývat problematikou komunikace s lidmi s mentálním postižením, konkrétně se zaměří na praktické využití konceptu snadného čtení (s mezinárodním označením Easy to read). V teoretické části budou popsána specifika komunikace s lidmi s mentálním postižením, čtení osob s mentálním postižením, alternativní a augmentativní komunikace a zejména pak koncept snadné čtení. Praktickou část budou tvořit výsledky vlastního šetření. Šetření proběhne v prostředí komunitních sociálních služeb, které se zaměřují na cílovou skupinu osob s mentálním postižením. Pro lepší vhled do problematiky budou použity případové studie, které předkládají zkušenosti s technikou snadného čtení z pohledu několika osob s mentálním postižením a zároveň z pohledu jejich klíčových pracovníků ze sociálních služeb. Cílem bude ověřit konkrétní možnosti využití techniky snadného čtení při spolupráci s lidmi s mentálním postižením. Součástí práce tak budou konkrétní závěry a doporučení pro praxi, která budou využitelná v praxi speciální pedagogiky a dalších disciplín tzv. pomáhajících profesí.

Abstract:

The author will deal in her bachelor's thesis with the issue of communication with people with mental disabilities, specifically focusing on the practical use of Easy to read. The theoretical part will describe the specifics of communication with people with mental disabilities, reading for people with mental disabilities, alternative and augmentative communication and especially the concept of Easy to read. The practical part will consist of the results of the own investigation. The investigation will take place in the environment of community social services, which focus on the target group of people with mental disabilities. For a better insight into the issue, case studies will be added that present experiences with the Easy to read technique from the point of view of several people with mental disabilities and from the point of view of their key workers from social services. The goal will be to verify the specific possibilities of using the easy reading technique in cooperation with people with mental disabilities. The work will thus include specific conclusions and recommendations for practice, which will be usable in the practice of special pedagogy and other disciplines of the so-called helping professions.
