Selected discreet cranial traits and their implication for postmarital residence in Latén Period

Abstract:

Cílem práce je identifikace postmaritální rezidence u laténské populace severní poloviny Čech, kterou jsme hodnotili na základě analýzy biologických vzdáleností. Fenotypovou variabilitu jsme hodnotili v rámci výběrového souboru populace střední doby laténské severní poloviny Čech na základě četnosti výskytu diskrétních kraniálních znaků. Na základě teoretických modelů jsme předpokládali, že praktikovaná rezidenční pravidla u laténské populace budou mít vliv na distribuci fenotypové variability mezi jedinci mužského a ženského pohlaví na vybraných pohřebištích období středního laténu.

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on identification of post-marital residence of the La Téne population in Bohemia.We presumed that practiced residence rules in the La Téne population would have influence on distribution of phenotype variability of individuals on chosen burial grounds. The phenotype variability was evaluated on the basis of mean of divergence, resp. mean measure of divergence. For each case of differences in the phenotype variability between men and women, an interval of reliability for each value of MD, resp. MMD was created.Not even in one case of MD, resp. MMD there were statistically significant differences in the phenotype variability between men and women, therefore the post-marital residence cannot be identified on the basis of data from chosen set of the La Téne population from the flat burial grounds.
