Documentary portrait: "Reaching clouds!" - practical aspects of realization and creative experience

Abstract:

Dokumentární film „Až do oblak!“ je dokumentárním portrétem dospívající dívky Lucie, která trpí poruchou autistického spektra (PAS). Ačkoliv je nyní 19letá Lucie hlavní hrdinkou filmu, faktické informace o jejím životě a životě její rodiny se dozvídáme prostřednictvím výpovědí jejích blízkých. Lucie nám pak skrze situace ze všedního života ukazuje, jak tráví svůj volný čas, co pro ni je důležité, co není, a co je důležité jen pro nás. Zatímco se Lucie ponořuje do vlastního světa „výtvarničení“ a zpěvu, její rodina se snaží, mnohdy s obrovským osobním nasazením, najít v naší společnosti místo pro někoho, jehož životní potřeby a návyky se na jednu stranu výrazně vymykají většinové společnosti, a na druhou stranu jsou tak přirozené a normální, jak si běžný člověk může představit. Film „Až do oblak!“ přináší prostřednictvím příběhu Lucie, také obecný vhled do problematiky života osob s PAS a odkrývá skutečnost, že v současnosti poskytované sociální služby pro tuto cílovou skupinu nejsou dostatečné. Teoretická část bakalářské práce popisuje jednak metodologický postup, ale především praktické aspekty a zkušenosti, získané při tvorbě filmu. Dotýká se také problematiky morálních a etických zásad při práci s osobou sociálně znevýhodněnou a problematiky praktické realizace dokumentu, jehož představitel vnímá totožnou realitu zcela odlišným způsobem než jeho tvůrce.

Abstract:

Documentary film „Reaching clouds!“ is a documentary portrait of a teenage girl Lucie, who suffers from autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Although 19 years old Lucie is the main character of the movie, factual information about her life and her family's life are told through the testimony of her relatives. Lucie then shows us through situations of everyday life how she spends her leisure time, what is important to her, what is not, and what is important just for us. While Lucie is fully immersed in her own world of creating and singing, her family tries, often with a great personal commitment, to find a place in our society for someone whose life needs and habits are on one side considerably beyond the mainstream society, and on the other hand, are so natural and normal as an ordinary person can imagine. The movie „Reaching clouds!“ brings us through the story of Lucie, a general insight into the life issues of people with ASD and reveals the fact that currently provided social services for this target group are not sufficient. The theoretical part of the thesis describes both the methodological approach, but mostly the practical aspects and experiences gained during the film formation. It covers also the issue of moral and ethical principles in working with socially disadvantaged person and issues of practical realization of the documentary movie whose main character perceives the same reality in a completely different way than the filmmaker.
