3D reconstruction of movable object by selected technique

Abstract:

Tato práce řeší rekonstrukci 3D tvaru movitého předmětu na základě sběru dat dvěma rozdílnými technikami, jejichž hlavní rozdíl spočívá v cenové dostupnosti. Jsou jimi sběr dat neměřickou kamerou mobilního telefonu za využití metody Structure from Motion, tedy běžně dostupný hardware, a statické pozemní laserové skenování, geodeticky přesný hardware. Cílem této práce je porovnat tyto techniky na základě zjištění jejich výhod a nevýhod vyplývajících z vlastního měření a zpracování dat. Dalším cílem je rovněž zjištění přesnosti těchto technik prostřednictvím vypočtení objemů vytvořených 3D modelů a následným porovnáním s analyticky vypočteným objemem předmětu sběru dat. Pro zpracování snímků pořízených neměřickou kamerou byl použit software Agisoft PhotoScan a pro zpracování mračna bodů pořízeného laserovým skenováním software Meshlab. Porovnání výsledných 3D modelů nakonec neproběhlo pouze na základě výpočtu objemu výsledných 3D modelů, ale také prostřednictvím povrchových odchylek, které byly zjištěny softwarem CloudCompare.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with 3D reconstruction of movable object based on two different techniques of data collection. The main difference between those techniques consist of the afordability. Techniques are folowing, data collection with non-metric camera of cell phone, thus commercialy available hardware, using Structure from Motion method and static terrestrial laser scanning, surveying the precise hardware. The aim of this study is to compare these techniques based on the establishment of their advantages and disadvantages consequent from the measurement and data processing. Another goal is to determine the accuracy of these techniques via calculating the volumes of 3D models and subsequent comparison with analytically calculated volume of the subject data collection. Software, which was used for processing images taken with the non-metric camera is Agisoft PhotoScan and Meshlab for point cloud processing acquired by laser scanning. In the end comparison of the 3D models weren't only on the basis of calculating the volume of the resulting 3D models, but also through the surface aberrations that were detected by CloudCompare software.
