Probation and its effect on reducing relapse into crime

Abstract:

Práce je věnována tématu Probace a její vliv na snižování recidivy. V praktické části práce pomocí dotazníku pro klienty Probační a mediační služby bude zjišťováno, zda pachatelé trestného činu vnímají, že je lepší alternativní trest ní než trest odnětí svobody. První část práce je věnována charakteristice, funkci a cíli Probační a mediační služby České republiky. Druhá část uvádí a charakterizuje druhy alternativních trestů. Třetí část práce popisuje činnost Probační a mediační služby České republiky při výkonu alternativních trestů. Závěrečná část práce uvádí popis a výsledky výzkumu. Výsledky práce jsou důležité pro zjištění, zda klientům Probační a mediační služby je pomáháno, tedy jsou vedeni k řádnému životu, aby se nedopouštěli recidivy. Cílem závěrečné práce je zjistit, zda Probační a mediační služba pomáhá klientovi vést řádný život a nepokračovat v dalším kriminálním chování a recidivě. Pro výzkumnou metodu závěrečné práce bude využit anonymní dotazník pro klienty Probační a mediační služby.

Abstract:

He topic of this thesis is probation and its effect on reducing criminal recidivism. The practical part of the study, using a questionnaire survey developed for the Probation and Mediation Service clients, aims to find out whether offenders perceive that an alternative sentence as a better alternative to incarceration. The first part of the study deals with characteristics, function, mission and objectives of the Czech Probation and Mediation Service. The second part hereof details alternative sanctions and its third part describes the Service processes and activities to secure enforcement of alternative sanctions. Its closing part presents the findings and results of the research survey. The results are to indicate to what extent the Probation and Mediation Service clients are supervised, assisted and thus led to a proper life with no further re-offending. The research method of this thesis is based on an anonymous questionnaire survey completed by the clients of the Probation and Mediation Service.
