The Withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union

Abstract:

Annotation The bachelor's thesis on the topic of the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union discusses the circumstances of the referendum for the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union, describes the topic in a historical context and analyzes statistical data from publicly accessible sources. Using the analysis of statistical data and the description of the causal relationships, the bachelor's thesis aims to confirm or refute the hypothesis that the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union was not based on the real need for the country's withdrawal from the European Union, but that it was a consequence of political populism. Several scientific methods were used in the bachelor's thesis, e.g. qualitative methods - data comparison and holistic description of a complex situation, analytical-synthetic method and a combination of scientific methods. In the case of the subject of the bachelor thesis, the combination of methods is a comparison of data with a generally extended premise, where as a premise we state the premise of the influence of political populism on society. annotation In the final part of the bachelor's thesis, we note the confirmation of the hypothesis. We conclude that the hypothesis about the influence of political populism on society was confirmed and the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union was not based on the real need for the country and that the withdrawal was a consequence of political populism. Abstract:

Anotácia Bakalárska práca na tému Vystúpenie Spojeného kráľovstva z Európskej Únie pojednáva o okolnostiach referenda za vystúpenie Spojeného kráľovstva z Európskej Únie, popisuje tému v historickom kontexte a analyzuje štatistické údaje z verejne prístupných zdrojov. Pomocou analýzy štatistických údajov a popisu príčinných súvislostí si bakalárska práca kladie za cieľ potvrdiť alebo vyvrátiť hypotézu, že vystúpenie Spojeného kráľovstva z Európskej únie sa nezakladalo na reálnej potrebe vystúpenia uvedenej krajiny z Európskej únie, ale že sa jednalo o dôsledok politického populizmu. V bakalárskej práci boli použité viaceré vedecké metódy, napríklad kvalitatívne metódy - komparácia údajov a holistická deskripciu zložitého stavu, analyticko-syntetická metóda a kombinácia vedeckých metód. Kombinácia metód je v prípade predmetnej bakalárskej práce komparácia dát so všeobecne rozšírenou premisou, kde ako premisu uvádzame premisu o vplyve politického populizmu na spoločnosť. V záverečnej časti bakalárskej práce konštatujeme potvrdenie hypotézy. Konštatujeme teda, že hypotéza o vplyve politického populizmu na spoločnosť bola potvrdená a vystúpenie Spojeného kráľovstva z Európskej únie sa nezakladalo na reálnej potrebe vystúpenia krajiny z Európskej únie a jednalo sa o dôsledok politického populizmu.
