Abstract:

Práce se zabývá závislostním hypersexuálním chováním z perspektivy zvládání, regulace negativních emočních stavů. Konkrétněji, jakožto jádro závislostního mechanismu je představena maladaptivní regulace emocí odvozených od zvnitřněného studu. Cílem prezentovaného výzkumu tedy bylo ověřit, zda potíže v regulaci emocí a tendence k prožívání studu mohou vysvětlovat hypersexuální chování. Dále byla ověřena role soucitu se sebou, jakožto potenciálního mediátora těchto vztahů, z důvodu jeho hypotetického významu v léčbě hypersexuality. K ověření hypotéz bylo provedeno dotazníkové šetření na vzorku 182 uživatelů internetových stránek se sexuálním obsahem. V souladu s hypotetickým modelem, tendence k prožívání studu predikovala hypersexualitu nepřímo skrze potíže v regulaci emocí. Regresní a úseková analýza dále potvrdily významnou úlohu obtíží v regulaci mocí v predikci hypersexuality. Hypotéza o mediačním vztahu soucitu se sebou byla však vyvrácena. Dodatečnými analýzami byly dále ověřovány úlohy pohlaví a vyhledávání pomoci z důvodů symptomů afektivních poruch jakožto potenciálních intervenujících proměnných. Výsledky jsou diskutovány mimo jiné z perspektiv terapeutické péče s klienty vykazujícími symptomy hypersexuální poruchy.

Abstract:

The present study investigates addictive hypersexual behavior within the perspective of maladaptive coping with unpleasant emotional states. Specifically, the maladaptive regulation of feelings emerging in association with internalized shame is presented as the core of the addictive cycle. Therefore, the aim of the present research was to examine whether difficulties in emotion regulation and shame-proneness may trigger hypersexual behavior. In addition, self-compassion was considered as a mediator to investigate its hypothesized role in the treatment of hypersexuality. The quantitative research study based on self-report measures was conducted on a sample of 182 users of sexuality-related websites. In accordance with the study expectations, in the hypothesized model, shame-proneness showed a weak-moderate indirect effect on hypersexuality through difficulties in emotion regulation. Furthermore, regression and path analyses revealed a significant moderate-strong direct effect of difficulties in emotion regulation on hypersexuality. However, the mediating role of self-compassion was not confirmed. The additional analyses examined hypothesized moderating effects of gender and reported struggles with mood disorders. The results are discussed within the perspectives on treatment of hypersexual disorder, e.g. affect regulation, shame reduction, and sexual boundary development.
