The Practice of Case Management of People with Mental Disorders

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce na téma ?Praxe případového vedení s lidmi s duševním onemocněním? se zabývá nově prosazovaným modelem nebo přístupem, který je znám v zahraničí pod názvem ?case management. Zaměřuje se na komunitní péči s lidmi, kteří jsou handicapovaní nejtěžšími formami duševních poruch, nejčastěji z oblasti psychóz. Jedná se o zprostředkování určitých služeb a jiné podpory dle individuálních potřeb klienta. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. V teoretické části je nastíněna situace péče o duševně nemocné, je zde charakterizován celý model case managementu a skupiny osob, které péči přijímají i poskytují. V praktické části je použit kvalitativní výzkum, který dopomáhá k prozkoumání hlavních zásad case managementu převzatých ze zahraničí našimi předními odborníky na případové vedení. Cílem práce je získání přehledu o uplatnění těchto zásad v největších českých organizacích využívajících case management.

Abstract:

This undergraduate thesis is titled ?The Practice of Case Management of People with Mental Disorders? and examines the newly-promoted model or approach known as ?case management?. It focuses on community care of people, who are handicapped with the most serious forms of mental disorders, most frequently in term of psychosis. It refers to the provision of certain services and support systems based on the individual needs of the client. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part outlines the situation of the care of the sick and describes the entire model of case management, including the groups of people who receive and provide the care. In terms of the practical part, a qualitative research is used in order to examine the key principals of case management, as they were adopted from abroad by our leading experts on case management. The objective of this thesis is to acquire an understanding of how the key principles might be applied within the largest Czech organizations that use the case management model.
