Abstract:
The aim of this thesis is to study the concept of an English Romantic poet, Samuel Taylor Coleridge?s imagination. It also aims to interpret Coleridge?s great poem, The Rime of Ancient Mariner. This thesis focuses on how Coleridge perceives imagination and how his perception of imagination is related to his poem, The Rime of Ancient Mariner. The thesis is divided into three chapters. Cílem předkládané práce je analyzovat imaginaci v díle anglického básníka Romantismu Samuala Taylora Coleridge. Práce interpretuje jednu z autorových nejvýznamějších básní - Balada o starém námořníkovi. Zaměřuje se na způsob, jakým Coleridge vnímá imaginaci a jakým způsobem se tato projevuje v básni Balada o starém námořníkovi. Práce je rozdělena do tří částí.
