Speeches in parliament - theoretical definition

Abstract:

Tato práce sleduje rozdíly mezi poslanci vyššího a nižšího věku a jejich délce projevů v rozpravě k jednomu zákonu od prvního až ke třetímu čtení. Hodnotím, zda délka projevu je ovlivněna věkem řečníka nebo zda na tomto aspektu nezáleží. Dalším objektem zkoumání této práce bude rozdíly v projevech poslanců vládní koalice a opozice. Cílem této práce je tedy zjistit, jestli je věk závislou nebo nezávislou proměnnou, jak tato fyzická vlastnost ovlivňuje parlamentní debatu a jestli vůbec a jestli jsou poslanci opozice více aktivní u řečnického pultu než členové vládní koalice.

Abstract:

This work tracks the differences between older and younger MPs and the length of their speeches in the debate on one law from the first to the third reading. I evaluate whether the length of the speech is affect-ed by the age of the speaker or whether this aspect does not matter. another object of investigation of this work will be the differences in the speeches of the MPs of the government coalition and the opposi-tion. The aim of this work is therefore to find out if age is a dependent or independent variable, how this physical characteristic affects the parliamentary debate, and if at all and if opposition MPs are more ac-tive at the lectern than members of the government coalition.
