Anaphora detection using ML techniques

Abstract:

Předkládaná bakalářská práce si klade za úkol prozkoumat trendy v oblasti detekce anafor a poté vytvořit model strojového učení, který bude schopen určovat anafory na větné úrovní v úzké doméně – recenze mobilních aplikací. Po určení nejčastějších typů anafor v datasetu recenzí mobilních aplikací byla provedena jeho anotace. Pro vytvoření modelu strojového učení byl použit předtrénovaný multilingual BERT model s podporou pro český jazyk. Finální model dosáhl váženého F-score 0,74 na testovací sadě.

Abstract:

The presented bachelor thesis aims to explore trends in the field of anaphora detection and then to create a machine learning model that will be able to determine anaphors at the sentence level in a narrow domain - reviews of mobile applications. After determining the most common types of anaphors in the mobile application review dataset, the dataset was annotated. A pre-trained multilingual BERT model with support for the Czech language was used to create a machine learning model. The final model achieved a weighted F-score of 0.74 on the test set.
