Industry analysis and financial diagnostics of pharmaceutical industry companies

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá odvětvovou analýzou a finanční diagnostikou podniků farmaceutického průmyslu. Je rozdělena do dvou hlavních částí. První část je zaměřena na teoretické aspekty odvětvové analýzy, jejímž základem je Porterův model pěti sil, který je dále aplikován na světový farmaceutický průmysl. Následně je provedena analýza českého farmaceutického průmyslu. Druhá část této práce se zabývá diagnostikou finančního zdraví a finanční analýzou v teoretické rovině. V této části je také provedena komparace některých ukazatelů finanční analýzy vybraných firem s odvětvovými hodnotami. Poté je porovnána finanční situace těchto společností pomocí indexu IN95 a bilanční analýzy dle Rudolfa Douchy.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the industry analysis and financial diagnostics of pharmaceutical industry companies. It is divided into two main parts. The first part focuses on theoretical aspects of the industry analysis, based on the Porter?s five forces model, which is also applied to the global pharmaceutical industry. Subsequently, an analysis of the Czech pharmaceutical industry is performed. The second part of this work deals with the diagnostics of the financial health and financial analysis in the theory. This section also provides the comparison of certain financial analysis indicators of selected firms with the industry values. Then it compares the financial situation of these companies using the index IN95 and balance analysis by Rudolf Doucha.
