Computer literacy and its development in the elderly

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je analyzovat úroveň počítačových dovedností současných seniorů a jejich zájem o rozvoj počítačové gramotnosti. V práci shrnuji hlavní pojmy z oblasti stáří a stárnutí, vzdělávání seniorů a počítačové gramotnosti. Ve výzkumu se zabývám úrovní počítačové gramotnosti současných seniorů a potřebou rozvoje počítačových dovedností. Zaměřuji se na spojení zájmů a zálib seniorů s jejich počítačovými dovednostmi a zjišťuji, jaké je využití počítačové techniky při jejich volnočasových aktivitách. V závěru práce navrhuji možná témata obsahu kurzů rozvoje počítačových dovedností pro seniory na základě jejich potřeb stanovených pomocí výzkumu.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to analyze the current level of computer skills to seniors and their interest in the development of their computer literacy. The thesis summarizes the main concepts of old age and aging, senior education and computer literacy. The research deals with the current level of computer literacy of seniors and their need to develop their computer skills. I focus on combination of interests and hobbies with computer skills and I research the extent of exploiting computer technology in their leisure activities. In conclusion possible topics for a course developing computer skills of seniors are sugessted, based on their needs established through research.
