Analysis of the causes of the ethno-religious conflict in Xinjiang province

Abstract:

Hlavním tématem této bakalářské práce je výzkum etnonáboženského konfliktu v čínské provincii Sin-ťiang. Problematiku více než šedesát let trvajícího konfliktu mezi menšinovým etnikem Ujgurů a Chany, čínským většinovým etnikem reprezentovaným státními orgány Čínské lidové republiky podrobíme analýze příčin vnitřního konfliktu od Michaela E. Browna. Na základě výsledku analýzy budeme moci definovat povahu konfliktu v Sin-ťiangu a určit hlavní příčiny, které stojí za jeho vznikem a stálým udržováním konfliktní situace v této strategicky významné čínské provincii.

Abstract:

The main topic of this bachelor’s thesis is a survey of the ethno-religious conflict in the Chinese province Xinjiang. An issue lasting more than sixty years, a conflict between the ethnic minority of Uyghurs and the Hans - the major Chinese ethnic group represented by state authorities - will be subjected to an analysis of the causes of internal conflict by Michael E. Brown. On the grounds of the results of this analysis, we can define the character of the conflict in Xinjiang and determine the main causes that stand behind the origin of this conflict and the constant preservation of the crisis in this important strategic Chinese province.
