Motivation of multidisciplinary team members in psychiatric care

Abstract:

V bakalářské práci se věnuji problematice multidisciplinární spolupráce a její klíčové roli při reformě psychiatrické péče. Zřizování multidisciplinárních týmů je nové nejen pro zdravotníky a sociální pracovníky, ale i pro klienty a jejich rodinné příslušníky a celkově i pro veřejnost. Cílem mé práce je zjistit základní motivační činitele, které ovlivňují potencionální členy týmů být jejich součástí. V rámci kvalitativního výzkumného šetření jsem se zaměřil na nově vznikající multidisciplinární týmy. Výzkumný vzorek je sestaven ze čtrnácti členů aktivních týmů, z nichž čtyři jsou členy pilotního programu zavádění multidisciplinárních týmů do zdravotnictví. Výsledky polostrukturovaných rozhovorů byly následně vyhodnocovány pomocí interpretativní fenomenologické analýzy. Bylo zjištěno, že pro vstup do multidisciplinárního týmu jsou hlavními motivačními činiteli pracovní smysluplnost a zajištění komplexní péče pro pacienty. Nevýhodami jsou naopak roztříštěnost týmu projevující se komunikační diskrepancí a nedostatečné zázemí pro týmy ve zdravotnictví. Zjištění, jaké motivační činitelé ovlivňují členy multidisciplinárních týmů, může být vodítkem pro instituce zakládající nové týmy. Reformě psychiatrické péče závěry mé práce přispějí ke kvalitnímu výběru pracovníků do multidisciplinárních týmů.

Abstract:

In my bachelor thesis I deal with the issue of multidisciplinary cooperation and its key role in the reform of psychiatric care. The establishment of multidisciplinary teams is new not only for health professionals and social workers, but also for clients and their family members and for the general public. The aim of my work is to identify the basic motivational factors that affect potential team members to be part of them. As part of a qualitative research survey, I focused on newly emerging multidisciplinary teams. The research sample is composed of fourteen members of active teams, four of which are members of the pilot program for the introduction of multidisciplinary teams in health care. The results of the semi-structured interviews were subsequently evaluated using interpretive phenomenological analysis. It was found that the main motivating factors for joining a multidisciplinary team are work meaningfulness and the provision of comprehensive care for patients. On the other hand, the disadvantages are the fragmentation of the team, which manifests itself in communication discrepancies and the insufficient background for teams in healthcare. Finding out what motivators influence members of multidisciplinary teams can be a guide for institutions setting up new teams. In the reform of psychiatric care, the conclusions of my work will contribute to the quality selection of employees for multidisciplinary teams.
