Croatia's path to the eurozone

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá Chorvatskou cestou do Evropské unie a eurozóny. Cílem je popsat proces přijetí a zavedení eura, a analyzovat výhody a nevýhody jeho přijetí a spokojenost obyvatel. Bakalářská práce je rozdělena na čtyři části. První kapitola se věnuje historii Evropské unie a vzniku společné měny, podmínkám pro přistoupení k těmto institucím a jak vůbec vznikla myšlenka společné měny. Druhá kapitola se zaměřuje na historické kroky Chorvatska před vstupem do EU a eurozóny a následně jeho připojení k ostatním členským státům. Třetí kapitola popisuje, jak je Chorvatsko připraveno k přijetí eura, jak bude probíhat výměna hotovosti, a jak budou obyvatelé informováni pomocí kampaní. Dále je popisována podoba původní národní měny a podoba nových euromincí. Čtvrtá kapitola hodnotí a analyzuje názor občanů a jejich postoj k přijetí eura na základě dotazníkového šetření.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with Croatia's path to the European Union and the euro area. The aim is to describe the process of adoption and introduction of the euro, and to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of its adoption and the satisfaction of the population. The bachelor thesis is divided into four parts. The first chapter deals with the history of the European Union and the creation of the common currency, the conditions for joining these institutions and how the idea of the common currency came about in the first place. The second chapter focuses on Croatia's historical steps before joining the EU and the Eurozone and its subsequent accession to the other member states. The third chapter describes how Croatia is prepared to adopt the euro, how the cash changeover will take place and how the population will be informed through campaigns. The design of the original national currency and the design of the new euro coins are also described. The fourth chapter assesses and analyses citizens' opinion and attitude towards the adoption of the euro on the basis of a questionnaire survey.
