The Truth and the Lie of the Myth

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářská práce je filosofická analýza mýtu a mytologie jako pravdivé zkušenosti se světem, která byla zjevením pravdy vyjádřené slovem. Na vybraných kapitolách interpretuje mýtus dle pojetí odlišných autorů a srovnává tradiční a moderní společnosti. První část práce se zabývá základní otázkou, co je to mýtus a jeho základními znaky. Také uvádí příklad klasické řecké tragédie a její filosofickou analýzu. V druhé části pojímá archaického člověka, jeho přístup ke světu (specifické pojetí času a katastrof). Poté ukazuje tradiční společnost, která prošla proměnou díky vlivům různých událostí jako zánik mykénského království, vznik polis a s ním spojená geometrizace společnosti a myšlení. Poslední část rozebírá mýty moderní společnosti a provádí ideologickou kritiku masových mýtů používaných k manipulaci společnosti a poté její sémiologický rozbor. Ukazuje zde určitý návod, jak tyto mýty můžeme dešifrovat.

Abstract:

The aim of the bachelor thesis is the philosophical analysis of the myth and the mythology as the true experience of the world, which has been the revelation of the truth expressed by the word. The chapters interpret the concept of myth by different authors and compare the traditional and modern society. The first part deals with the basic question, what the myth is and its basic features. It also provides an example of classical Greek tragedy and its philosophical analysis. In the second part it focuses on the archaic human, his attitude to the world (specific concept of time and disasters). Then it shows the traditional society that has changed due to the effects of different events such as decline of the Mycenaean kingdom, the establishment of polis and the connected geometrization of society and thought. The last section discusses the myths of the modern society and carries out ideological critique of mass myths used to manipulate the society and then its semiological analysis. A possible guidance how these myths might be decoded is shown here.
