The return to the court of an amateur tennis player following a multi-fragmentary fracture of the elbow: clinical case.

Abstract:

Playing tennis is good for you, but it exposes you to the risk of various types of injury, including tendinitis, dislocations and fractures in the upper limb. Clinical case: patient N.C. suffered an exposed multi-fragmentary fracture of the radial head, treated with surgical reduction with screws and nails. Rehabilitation begins immediately to reduce edema and pain, and avoid joint stiffness and instability. A careful anamnesis, an accurate objective examination, supported by radiological examination and Computed Tomography guide the rehabilitation treatment, which includes an initial phase of passive exercises, followed by movement to restore the joint ROM, first guided and then active, while in the final step the patient performs strength and speed strengthening exercises to recover excellent elbow mobility.

Abstract:

Giocare a tennis fa bene, ma espone al rischio di vari tipi di lesione, tra cui nell'arto superiore tendiniti, lussazioni e fratture. Caso clinico: il paziente N.C. ha subito una frattura pluriframmentaria esposta di capitello radiale, trattata con riduzione chirurgica con viti e chiodi. La riabilitazione inizia immediatamente per ridurre edema e dolore, ed evitare rigidit? ed instabilit? articolari. Un'attenta anamnesi, un esame obiettivo accurato, coadiuvato da esame radiologico e Tomografia Computerizzata guida il trattamento riabilitativo, che comprende una prima fase di esercizi passivi, seguiti dalla movimentazione per il ripristino del ROM articolare, prima guidata e poi attiva, mentre nello step finale il paziente esegue esercizi di potenziamento di forza e velocit? per recuperare un'ottima mobilit? del gomito.
