Emotionality in German-written Literature in the Second Half of the 20th Century on the Example of the Novel "Ein fliehendes Pferd" by Martin Walser

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the emotionality in German literature with an example in the novel Runaway Horse by German author Martin Walser. The theoretical part explains concepts of emotionality and its rules or emotions. This part also deals with differences between emotions and feelings as well as their characteristics and expressions. Furthermore there is a characterization of the emotion called love and the types of love that can occur. In the empirical part the particular attention is on conjugal affection and its five languages of love. Among this five languages are: Words of Affirmation, Quality time, Gifts, Acts of Service and Physical Touch. The main characters are represented by two married couples who based on long-term coexistence experience their emotions in different ways. The aim of this thesis is to analysis the above five languages of love, always from the position to the partner. The analysis will uncover the true face of each character and also it will come out if both couples have a chance to continue their future together or not.

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá emocionalitou v německy psané literatuře na příkladu románu Prchající kůň německého autora Martina Walsera. V teoretické části jsou vysvětleny pojmy jako emocionalita a její pravidla nebo emoce. Tato část se také zabývá rozdíly mezi emocemi a city, stejně tak popisuje jejich vlastnosti a projevy. Dále je zde charakterizován cit zvaný láska a její druhy. Zvláštní pozornost je však zaměřena na lásku manželskou a jejích pět jazyků lásky, na které se soustředí část empirická. Mezi těchto pět jazyků lásky patří: slova ujištění, pozornost, přijímání darů, skutky služby a fyzický kontakt. Hlavní postavy představují dva manželské páry, které na základě dlouhodobého soužití prožívají své emoce odlišným způsobem. Cílem této práce je provést analýzu výše uvedených pěti jazyků lásky a to vždy z pozice k partnerovi. Prostřednictvím analýzy bude odhalena pravá tvář jednotlivých postav a taktéž se projeví, zda oba dva páry mají naději na pokračování ve společné budoucnosti či nikoliv.
