Addictology patients personality structure in the context of DSM-5 alternative model

Abstract:

Stěžejním tématem předložené diplomové práce jsou struktury osobnosti u adiktologických pacientů v kontextu alternativního modelu DSM-5. Cílem této práce bylo zmapovat výskyt patologických rysů osobnosti u adiktologických pacientů pomocí Osobnostního inventáře pro DSM-5 (PID-5) a porovnat hodnoty jednotlivých oblastí a aspektů s referenčním vzorkem populace z dosud jediné studie této metody u nás. Dílčím cílem bylo zachycení rozdílností v charakteristických rysech osobnosti dle PID-5 u skupiny závislých na alkoholu vůči skupině závislých na drogách. Realizace sběru dat proběhla pomocí jednorázového dotazníkového šetření, ze kterého bylo vybráno 40 pacientů se závislostí na alkoholu a 40 pacientů závislých na drogách (N = 80). Výsledky práce ukazují na vyšší výskyt patologických rysů osobnosti u adiktologických pacientů vůči referenčnímu vzorku populace. Mezi jednotlivými skupinami nebyly nalezeny signifikantní rozdíly. Výsledky práce mohou být předmětem dalšího zkoumání využití Osobnostního inventáře PID-5 v klinické praxi.

Abstract:

The main topic of the submitted thesis is the personality structure in addictological patients in the context of the DSM-5 alternative model. The aim of this thesis was to map the occurrence of certain pathological personal aspects in addictology patients using the Personality inventory for DSM-5 (PID-5) and to compare values of individual areas and aspects with the referral population sample from the only study that has been conducted yet in the Czech Republic. The sub-aim was to capture the differences in personality aspects by PID-5 methodology by comparing the groups of alcohol addicts with drug addicts. The data research was done by one-time interview survey, where 40 alcohol addict patients and 40 drug addict patients (N = 80) were chosen as a representative sample. The results of this thesis point to higher occurrence of pathological personal aspects of addictology patients in contrast to referral population sample. No significant differences were found between the two addict groups. These results may serve the use for additional research for clinical practice of the Personality inventory for DSM-5
