A Comparison of the Position of Muslims in France and in Holland

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce s názvem "Srovnání postavení muslimů ve Francii a v Holandsku" se zabývá situací, ve které se nacházejí vyznavači islámu v těchto dvou zemích. Nejdříve je v práci hodnoceno, jakou imigrační politiku hlásají Francie a Holandsko v rámci EU. Poté jsou vyhodnocovány názory, které mají jednotlivé politické strany zastoupené ve francouzském a holandském parlamentu na imigrační politiku. Třetím aspektem jsou média, konkrétně největší deníky. V potaz je brána také činnost muslimských organizací v těchto dvou zemích. Nakonec je vytvořena určitá syntéza, která hodnotí, jak tyto přístupy ovlivňují situaci muslimů ve Francii i v Holandsku. Hlavním cílem této bakalářské práce je najít nejen hlavní rozdíly mezi postavením muslimů ve Francii a v Holandsku, ale také vyhodnotit, v čem je situace této etnické skupiny v analyzovaných zemích stejná.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis with the title "A Comparison of the Position of Muslims in France and in Holland" is concerned with the situation in which the confessors of Islam find themselves. First, the work assesses the immigration policies represented by France and Holland within the EU. Next, opinions on immigration policy claimed by the parties present in the French and Dutch parliament are evaluated. Third aspect is formed by the media, particularly the biggest newspapers. Activities of Muslim organizations in these two countries are also taken into consideration. Finally, a kind of synthesis is created which judges how these approaches influence the situation of Muslims in France and in Holland. The main goal of this bachelor thesis is not only to find the main differences between the positions of Muslims in France and in Holland but also to come up with characteristics common for Muslims in the analyzed countries.
