Herpesviry tvoří širokou skupinu obalených DNA virů replikujících svůj genom v jádře buněk hostitele. Virus Epstein-Barrové (EBV) je onkogenním herpetickým virem způsobujícím infekční mononukleózu a nádorová onemocnění. Herpesviruses comprise a diverse group of enveloped DNA viruses that replicate their genomes in the nucleus of host cells. Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is an oncogenic herpesvirus that causes infectious mononucleosis and cancer. In infected cells, EBV occurs in two forms: latent – hidden and lytic – productive.
