Astigmatism as an imaging aberration

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce „Astigmatizmus jako zobrazovací vada“ shrnuje poznatky o astigmatizmu jako o monochromatické aberaci optických systémů a také jako o refrakční vadě oka. Práce zahrnuje obecnou charakteristiku monochromatických optických aberací se zaměřením na astigmatizmus šikmých paprsků. Je zde popsán důvod vzniku aberací, průběh v optických prostředích a konečný následek chybného zobrazení. Práce dále charakterizuje astigmatizmus jako refrakční vadu oka. Jsou zde popsány optické prostředí oka, jejichž stav může ovlivnit vznik nebo průběh astigmatizmu oka. Dále se práce zabývá korekcí, která spravuje pacientovi vadu zobrazení. Poslední část pojednává o objektivních a subjektivních metodách vyšetření očního astigmatizmu.

Abstract:

The bachelor’s thesis „Astigmatism as an imaging error“ summarize knowledge about astigmatism as an monochromatic aberration of an optical systems and also as an refractive error of the eye. The thesis includes general characteristics about monochromatic aberrations focusing on an oblique astigmatism. There is a description of its reason of formation, its process and behaviour in an optical medium and the final result of the incorrect display. The thesis continues with characteristics about astigmatism as a refractive error of the eye. There is description about the optical media of the eye whose condition could affect formation or process of astigmatism. The thesis also deals with correction which manage the patient’s incorrect display. The final part deal with objective and subjective examination of the astigmatism in the eye.
