The Czech-Sudeten German interethnic relations of interwar period from the perspective of the Stříbro´s periodical "Mieser Zeitung"

Abstract:

Cílem práce je analýza česko-sudetoněmeckých interetnických vztahů meziválečného období z pohledu stříbrského periodika "Mieser Zeitung", jež vycházelo v letech 1919 až 1937. Zvláštní pozornost je věnována třem kritickým obdobím: roku 1918, kdy došlo k etablování české státnosti na sledovaném území, volebnímu roku 1935 a pro naši vlast kritickému roku 1938, v němž je mj. vyhlášen Karlovarský program. Koncem září pak Mnichovský diktát. Pro nás je důležité, jak o těchto třech významných obdobích uceleně referují noviny. Problematika česko-německého soužití je uchopena prizmatem obou zkoumaných populací.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is the analysis of Czech-Sudeton German interethnic relations in the interwar period from the perspective of the Stríbri periodical "Mieser Zeitung", which was published between 1919 and 1937. Special attention is paid to three critical periods: 1918, when Czech statehood was established in the monitored territory, the election 1935 and the critical year 1938 for our homeland, in which, among other things, the Karlovy Vary Program was announced. At the end of September, the Munich Dictate. It is important for us how the newspapers comprehensively report on these three important periods. The issue of Czech-German coexistence is grasped through the prism of both investigated populations.
