Polycyklické aromatické uhlovodíky (PAHs) jsou významnou skupinou organických polutantů. Mnohé PAHs vykazují karcinogenní, mutagenní a teratogenní účinky. PAHs jsou charakterizovány jako sloučeniny toxické, perzistentní a bioakumulativní, vyskytující se ve všech složkách životního prostředí. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are an important group of organic pollutants. Many PAHs are carcinogenic, mutagenic and teratogenic. PAHs are characterized as toxic, persistent and bioaccumulative compounds which occur in all parts of the environment. Plants have abilities to take up, transform and accumulate these compounds.
